Welcome to our district. We are so pleased to have you join our community to start or continue your teaching career. I’m confident that your decision to join our district will be a rewarding experience. I hope we will have a chance to connect in person during one of my school visits or at one of our annual events.
During your time with us, you will no doubt make new connections and discover a few things on your own. Before you take on your new role, I’d like to outline just a few of the things that I think make West Vancouver Schools such a special place to work and learn.
One of the hallmarks of our district is our outstanding reputation for excellence. The lighthouse in our logo is more than an emblem. It is a beacon for those studying and working in the district, and a leading light for education in our province, across the country and globally. While we have a strong reputation for academics, we enjoy success in many other areas, and we know that our accomplishments are due in large part to the great relationships we cultivate and enjoy.
Our parents, students, staff and community agencies are an amazing source of strength and new ideas and this culture continues to make the district a top choice for families and new staff. At West Vancouver Schools, curiosity is valued and we encourage professional engagement not just on specific days, but throughout the year.
We are proud of the community feel within our district, and hope you will join your colleagues in regular discussions, and come together with the district to celebrate opening day, holiday celebrations and events marking both retirement and professional success.
