Imagine A Canada Contest
June 14, 2017 - 2 minutes readMr. Lowewn’s grade 6/7 class from Hollyburn Elementary participated in an inquiry project on reconciliation, and then took part in a national arts and communications initiative through the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. The contest invited young people to share what the future of Canada looks like through the lens of reconciliation.
All of Mr. Lowewn’s students submitted work and several from the class were selected as honourees. Ten students in the province were chosen per age group, and five of the students in Mr. Lowewn’s class were selected for this category. In addition, one of the students, Andra Pope, was selected to go to Ottawa in June as the BC representative for her age group. She will take part in a ceremony to be held at Rideau hall in June.
