The Minister of Education announced on March 17, 2020 that effective immediately all K-12 in-class instruction will be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, all West Vancouver Schools will not be open for in-class instruction following Spring Break.

The Fundable Admissions team has been redirected to other work with current West Vancouver Schools students. We cannot process your application at this time. We will re-evaluate later in April when we can return to work on your application.

Please review all of the information below and click the apply button after you have gathered all of your supporting documents. You will be redirected to a separate website. Please create an account and use the Diplomat, Refugee, Study Permit, Work Permit application form. We will review your uploaded documents. Once approval has been given, we will provide you with complete instructions on how to register for school. Please note that application processing time is typically 7 – 10 business days after date of submission, but may take several weeks during busy periods.

Please note that processing times are currently longer than usual. Your patience is appreciated.

The Fundable Admissions Department will begin to accept applications for the 2024-2025 school year on March 15, 2024.

Application processing typically takes 7-10 business days after the date of submission, but during busy periods, can take up to several weeks. Your patience is appreciated.

Applications will be processed according to district priority, with in-district applications processed first, followed by out-of-district applications. If your application is approved, staff will issue the student a file number and email you instructions for applying for school admission.

*Please note that many of our schools are heavily subscribed and will not be able to enrol a student living out-of-district.*

A student who is in British Columbia with his or her parent (also documented legal guardian, hereafter listed as ‘parent’) might be eligible for a publicly-funded education if the parent meets criteria set out by the provincial government and West Vancouver Schools.

The Fundable Admissions Department at West Vancouver Schools is responsible for reviewing documents to ensure that families are properly enrolled in our schools. In certain cases, we must verify information directly with third-party organizations such as employers, educational institutions, embassies, landlords, etc. The parent must provide official and original documentation to prove they are eligible under one of the four categories below:

The parent is carrying out official duties as an accredited diplomatic agent, preclearance officer, consular officer or official representative in Canada of a foreign government with a consular post in British Columbia or under the authority of the Visiting Forces Act.
