Student Application Procedures

We are pleased to accept applications for admission from families and students residing both within and outside of West Vancouver Schools. With 14 primary and elementary schools and four secondary schools, West Vancouver Schools offers a wide range of programs and opportunities to challenge and enrich your child’s learning.

Children may begin Kindergarten in September of the calendar year in which they turn five years old. i.e. Students born in 2022 will begin Kindergarten in September 2027, and students born in 2023 will begin Kindergarten in September 2028.

Education funding in British Columbia is available when a student and their parent/guardian are ordinarily resident in British Columbia or otherwise meet the eligibility criteria established by the Ministry of Education and Child Care. District admissions procedures require specific documentation to verify residency. Short-term accommodations, such as hotels and Airbnb rentals, are generally not accepted as evidence of ordinary residence.

 

Only students with complete applications (i.e. all required documents submitted) will be considered for placement or added to waitlists. Applications that are incomplete two weeks after the submission date will be removed.

Current students do not need to re-apply unless they intend to transfer schools.
