The Gift of Public Education

Many West Vancouver families donate significant time and resources to support school and community causes while their children are registered in our schools. While this type of support is both generous and indispensable, over the years we have also received inquiries regarding legacy-style gifts that grow over time and build sustainable educational opportunities for the future.

As a result, in 2014, the West Vancouver Board of Education created the Enhanced Learning Opportunities Endowment Fund to increase opportunities for students and provide a way for the community to support public education. Outgoing Board Chair, Cindy Dekker, made a generous $10,000 contribution to start the fund, which is managed locally by the West Vancouver Community Foundation. Disbursements generated from the interest earned on the fund require approval from the district and current Board Chair.

Questions about the fund may be directed to WVS’s Secretary-Treasurer Julia Leiterman at jleiterman@wvschools.ca or contact the Foundation at 604.925.8513.
