She found passion in the sport early in her career and was lucky enough to have been coached and mentored by some of the best players in Canada, through the various high-performance programs offered at WVFHC and the Field Hockey BC provincial programming. As an athlete, she had the privilege of representing Team BC twice at the U23 National Championships. Her time playing collegiate field hockey started in Canada at the University of Waterloo, in Ontario. However, upon receiving a scholarship offer to play at an NCAA division one program in the United States, she jumped at the opportunity and transferred to play out her last two years of school. As a student-athlete, Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
Lauren started junior coaching at WVFHC in the Spring of ninth grade and enjoyed it as a way to give back to the community. She continued junior coaching until her senior year of high school and upon graduating she earned a position as a club coach at WVFHC. While in University she coached seasonally, returning to coach WVFHC’s programs and camps every spring and summer break.
Lauren returned home to Vancouver in June of 2023, after completing an internship with Disney in Orlando, Florida. Since returning home, she has been coaching full-time as one of the lead club coaches at WVFHC coaching players of all ages. She finds it rewarding to learn from and collaborate with her fellow coaches and has found a passion for coaching. Lauren loves sharing her knowledge and experiences to mentor and get to know her players to help them attain their individual goals.
