Program Fees (2020 – 2021)

All fees are in Canadian dollars. Program fees include compulsory medical insurance.

** We encourage students to arrive at their homestay family no more than two (2) days before the start of Orientation to avoid temporary homestay placements.

*** Transfer from YVR to the listed address (homestay or private address) is arranged by International Programs and is outsourced by Language Limousine. The service is available for the first time a student arrives at YVR only. Return trips to YVR are not arranged by International Programs. Language Limousine provides a trusted, reliable service to our international students. With scheduled pickups, easily recognizable staff, personalized service, and live tracking, you can be assured every student is in good hands. Details on Fees

The governing principal is that international program fees cover all non-optional costs connected with the curriculum, including:

  • Activity fees
  • Commencement fees
  • Basic course fees
  • Outdoor school/retreat fees
  • Yearbook fees for graduating Grade 12 students only
  • Medical insurance fees

Student may be charged for optional fees, including:

  • Enhanced supply fees
  • AP exam fees
  • IB related fees
  • Montessori fees
  • Extracurricular sports fees
  • Club fees
  • Field trip fees

The schools will charge these fees directly to each student using their internal fee billing system.

Fee Schedule and Refund Policy

In the event that the student does not come to Canada or decides not to attend or to leave West Vancouver School’s International Programs, the following terms will apply:

a. the application fee is non-refundable in any circumstances;
b. for students in their first year of participation in the International Programs, the following will apply:

i. the full tuition fee, less the application fee, will be refunded upon receipt of satisfactory evidence that the Study Permit was not approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada – IRCC.

ii. two-thirds (2/3) of the tuition fee, less the application fee, will be refunded if the student withdraws prior to commencement of program;

iii. one half (1/2) of the tuition fee, less the application fee, will be refunded if the
student withdraws within 30 calendar days of commencing the program; and

iv. no refund will be granted, for any reason, if the student withdraws after 30 calendar days of commencing the program

c. if a student indicates they will be returning to West Vancouver International Programs for a second or subsequent year and withdraws prior to commencing the second or subsequent year, the following will apply:

i. 50% of the annual tuition fee will be refunded if they withdraw from the program prior to June 15 of the year in which the second or subsequent year of studies is to commence;

ii. no refund will be provided for any withdrawal after June 15 of the year in which the second or subsequent year of studies is to commence.

d. no refund will be provided if a student is dismissed from the program because of a violation of this Agreement.

e. In certain circumstances an international fee-paying student may become eligible to become a fundable student upon their parent or guardian becoming ordinarily resident in British Columbia. A student may only change their status from fee-paying to fundable three working days prior to the government deadline for fundability. This days varies from year to year so please check with the International Programs office. No refund of tuition will be provided to any student whose status changes after this funding deadline for the applicable school year.
