Post-Secondary Applications Part 2: Sending marks

Post-secondary schools require students to report interim grades and have them verified by the Student Transcript Service (STS).

  • Interim grade reporting: most universities will require students to self-report their interim grades. Common universities utilizing self-reporting include UVic, SFU, Cap U, Western, McGill and Toronto. Self-reported grades will be verified later by the STS. Other schools will require a school transcript to be sent or uploaded. Student can request a school transcript from Mrs. Caruth. All universities vary on the timing of interim grade reporting and students need to ensure they check websites for dates.
  • Student Transcript Service (STS): this is an online form that is mandatory for students to complete for admission. It provides the Ministry of Education with permission from the student to release their grades to post-secondary schools. Students will complete this form in their CLC classes. The STS will release grades upon request from universities and also automatically send a final transcript in July.

UBC: is slightly different from other institutions, in that, they will only use the STS to obtain grades. Once students have submitted their application and completed the STS, there is nothing else to do!

Gr. 12 Provincial Literacy Assessment:   November 1 to 5, 2021
