Touching Base – For you, Parents!

February 24, 2021 - 2 minutes read

Dear PJ Families,

There is something in the air lately.  I am not sure if it is COVID exhaustion, the rain, or just the end of February.  Regardless of the reason, I wanted to reach out to acknowledge each of you for your hard work on doing the toughest job out there – parenting!  I can only imagine that you often feel disconnected to your child’s classroom and to the other families and friends that you used to rely so joyfully on.  This pandemic has revealed so many silver linings, but feelings of connectedness are not on that list.

The teachers and I collaborated last week and we would like to collectively remind you that we love to hear from you and are open to any suggestions for keeping you in the loop.  Please contact your child’s teacher(s) at any time should you have questions or feel like an update would help ease your mind.

Business as ‘unusual’ has been going on for us for over a year now in schools as we have adapted to the new normal, over and over again.  We wanted to take a moment to recognize that you not being physically a part of that leaves a huge hole.

We can’t wait for this to be over, to open our doors and arms again widely, and to welcome you all back onto the playground and into our building.  Won’t it be lovely to be able to see everyone’s smiles once the masks are gone, too?

Happy Wednesday to all of you.  Hang in there.  We’ve got this!
