The Senior boys rugby game this week vs Sentinel has been moved to this Friday at West Van. Come out and cheer on your Highlanders in this "Best of the West" rugby match up. Kick off is at 4:00 pm.

Last Friday the players and families of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team in Saskatchewan suffered an unimaginable tragedy. The community lost 15 players, coaches and volunteers. On Thursday April 12th we are inviting all students and staff to wear a sports jersey as a sign of support for the families and friends affected.

Grade 12s who are applying for the District Scholarship need to have their application in by Friday, April 13th. See someone in the career programs office for more information.
Spring football is not far off. There will be a very important football meeting for all Grade 8 and 9 students on Wednesday April 11th in E303. All interested players should attend. If you cannot attend please see Mr. Anderson.
Attention Highland Nation, the early bird deadline to sign up for the BC Children's Hospital Child Run is fast approaching. Please sign up online and join the West Van School Team before midnight Thursday April 12th. The run is a 5km fundraiser for the Children's Hospital that takes place June 3rd, 9:00 am at Queen Elizabeth Park. Please see your PE teachers for more details.
The junior boys rugby team lost a heart breaker yesterday to Rockridge. After leading 13-12 in the closing minutes, some very opportunistic play saw Rockridge score in the corner from a penalty.Final score, 17-12, for Rockridge, but our boys secured a bonus point in the standings. Next up for the boys is a 7's tournament at Mulgrave on Friday!

Congrats to both the junior and senior badminton team for their second win in two games. Solid effort from our boys & girls. Special mention goes to Alice, Roger, Nai-Fu, Dominic, and Owen as they fought hard to push their games to tie breakers.

Thank you to everyone who came out on Friday to support your Highlanders' rugby teams. We went 2 for 3 in our triple header;
- the girls lost in a competitive affair to Argyle 14-7
- the junior boys crushed the touring team from England 33-10
- the senior boys, however, had the best result...grinding out a win vs South Delta 28-14 to hold thier 6th place provincial ranking
