Basketball tryouts this week are as follows:

  • Grade 9/10 Girls  - Today at 3:00
  • Grade 8 Girls - Tomorrow at 3:00
  • 9/10 Boys - please check bulletin board for tryout time

There will be an Improv club meeting this Friday after school in the drama room.

Come to "Alpha Club" at lunch on Friday is Mrs. Metcalfe's room (W154). There will be delicious snacks and it's a great way to make new friends and have a good time! See you Friday!

Grade 8 Intramurals continue today at lunch. So far, Wolves are in the lead, with the Thunderbird's in close second. No matter what house you are, show up today in the south campus gym to play soccer. No commitment, just show up and play.

Grade 10 Boys are to meet Mr. Ross at skating this morning.

Reminder that pride club meets tomorrow at lunch in Ms.Castro's dance studio in Kay Meek. No qualifications other than an open mind. Stop by to see what it's all about.

The Grade 8 Volleyball team competed in the Vancouver and District Championships yesterady, battling all the way to the finals. It was a tough loss to STA, but the girls had an amazing season and proudly hold the banner as Nort Shore Champions. Congratulations team and good luck at basketball try-outs tomorrow!

A reminder to all Senior Boys Rugby players that conditioning starts today, unless you are wrestling or on the basketball team! Meet at the pit dressed to run!

The Senior Field Hockey team play their first Provincial game, today in Richmond. Good luck girls. Highlander Pride!

There will be a cross-country team photo today right after school in the old gym.

Mr. Dignum's block 1-3 PE class is skating this morning at 10:15 at the West Vancouver Arena. Walk down.

Big day for the Grade 8 girls Volleyball team. They are hosting the Vancouver and District Volleyball Championships here today. Our girls play their first game at 3:00 pm in the old gym. Come out and support your team. Good luck girls!

For any grade 11 and 12 students: SFU is visiting today at lunch in the CRC.

Attention Grade 8: The AMC 8 Math contest is being written in 2-4 today in the south campus Cafeteria. Make sure to attend.

Fresh Street Market is hiring and will be here at lunch time in front of the cafeteria today.

Pride Club has moved to Friday`s at lunch. No matter how you identify, new people are always welcome. No qualifications or commitment required. See you Friday at lunch in M. Castro's dance studio.

Hew West Van, the school store is having a sale on seaweed! Come by the store at lunch and purchase the seaweed for 50 cents.

In celebration of the "Day of the Dead", a traditional Mexican holiday, the Multicultural and Spanish clubs, will be holding an event in room C205 today at lunch time. We will be selling a traditional Mexican bread called el pan de los muertos. There will also be face painting. Bring your friends, it's going to be fun!

Theatre Company: the cast list has been posted! First read through is today November 8th at 3pm in the drama room. Everyone must attend!

All girls interested in Senior Girls Basketball meeting tomorrow at lunch in LAC north.

Student council MC's for the Remembrance Day Ceremonies are reminded to meet in the music room at lunch.

Come cheer on the Senior Girls Volleyball team today at 4:30 pm versus Sentinel for the Best of the West!

The grade 8 Girls Volleyball team capped off an amazing season with a 3 game victory in the Finals over the Handsworth Royals to win the North Shore Champions Banner for the first time since 1978. West Van will host the one-day Vancouver & District tournament on Wednesday, November 15th. Good luck Highlanders!

At the BC Cross-Country Championships, Aiden Doherty and Alexander Farlinger ran incredible races to finish 3rd and 4th in the province, to lead the Senior Boys team to a 5th place finish.Also running strong races at provincials were Nick Owen, Adam Tidball, Tom Boddington, Thomas Dignum, Megan Roxby, Rachel Watkins, and Jonathan Keyton. Ges Bushe won a silver medal in the para race. There is a team pizza lunch tomorrow in the east wing. Bring uniforms!

Congrats to the Senior Volleyball team for their 4th place finish out of 20 teams at the Peace Arch tournament! Cate Sykes was awarded an all-star trophy and Gabi Araujo added double digits in assists and kills. May Meldrum and Shannon Bushe lead the team in kills, while Caitlin Smith made huge blocks in the front row!

Do you want to travel abroad and help those in need? Join our Dominican Republic School trip. This trip is open to all students. You can earn 35 service hours, develop leadership skills, and stay at a beach side resort. For more information, look at the trips board outside the main office or see Ms. Pirbhai or Mr. Johnson. We will have an information session on November 7th at 6:00 pm in the computer lab.

Attention Grade 12s: If you reserved a boat cruise ticket with Mrs. Walton please see her right away to confirm and pay. Otherwise your ticket will be sold.
