The Sr. boys rugby team had a tough battle on Saturday against Lord Bing for the Triple-A tier 2 provincial championship. Byng jumped ahead early but a try by Cole Roberts kept the Highlanders in it. Strong play in the midfield by Byng gave them two more tries, but an amazing run by Matt Lane and a Ben Welsh conversion made it 21-12 for Byng at the half. The Highlanders fought back in the second half, but they were not able to get on the board again. Despite the loss, the boys should be proud of having a fine season and a shot at a provincial rugby banner, something WVSS has not had in many years. Good work boys!
Reminder to the Volleyball Program that our Elementary school camp starts today. Meet in the gym for set up as soon as possible after school!
Big Thank you to everyone who participated in the RBC Race for the kids; we had over 40 students and 3 teachers participate and raise $650 to help children with mental illness and cancer. Great work Highlanders!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Sr. boys rugby team on their 36-11 win over Nanaimo District in their semi-final match at the Provincial tournament! Right from the opening whistle, the boys came out on the attack, scoring three tries in the first 15 minutes of play and dominating possession throughout the match. However, the Nanaimo side were persistent, forcing the Highlanders to stay on their game and keep up the attack until the end. It was a great team effort with standout performances by Ben Welsh and Harry Waddell and tries also scored by Simon Li and Aidan Izadi. Good luck boys on Saturday in the final versus Lord Byng!
