After a very close and hard fought game, the grade 8 boys basketball team were able to win against Collingwood 50 to 42. Points by Julius Reznik and 3 pointers by Jake Hunter-Wee and Thomas Carrie kept the game tied until the 4th, where Radin Akbari scored a three pointer to give them the lead. Following an impressive display by Stirling Wallace and the team, they secured the win! Excellent game boys!

Senior Boys Basketball team are taking on Handsworth tonight in a big Prime Time Tilt – See you in the Plaid Palace as your senior boys kick off league play – Game time is 7:30pm. Go Highlanders!

Congratulations and good luck to the WVSS Improv team who will be competing at the Canada Improv Games tonight at Barnaby Central. If you’d like to cheer them on and see some great comedy, the show starts at 7pm.

Volunteers are needed for Parent Teacher Night!
We need WVSS best to come out and volunteer for Parent Teach interviews next Thursday January 24th for 2 shifts 11:30 am and 5pm. Please come sign up in the office today!!

Grads – You can now book your grad photo retakes online!! Retakes are on Jan 26th from 10am to 5pm. All bookings happen on the Mountain West website.

The deadline for submissions for the Writing Journal is Jan 31st. So make sure to submit your work before then by placing it in the submission box in room W241.
Also there will be a hot chocolate sale on Friday in front of the caf at recess and lunch for $2. All donations go towards publishing the journal.
