SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL – COMING TO YOU FROM PJ IN MAY, 2019!

·         Welcome to the world of Dr. Seuss!  Seussical is a new musical based on the author’s works which weaves together his most famous tales in unexpected ways.  This production incorporates elements from at least 15 of his books as well as many of his best loved characters.  His message is about helping others, not giving up and keeping a promise.

·         Auditions finished last week and, if your child was selected for a main role, then you will have received a letter today.  It is due back promptly by Monday December 17^th. We are very proud of all the students who brought forth such effort, preparation and energy to their auditions.  Truly, it was extremely hard to cast with the level of talent we enjoyed.

·         With this scale of production comes an expectation of commitment from all involved.  Our intention is to have two after school rehearsals per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 – 4:30).  Your child may not always be needed on a certain date and we will notify all required students well in advance, but your child will need to make sure he or she can come (if required) on those afternoons.  We understand that commitments will arise and we will definitely endeavor to take these into account and schedule lunch time rehearsals when needed.  We will require some weekend rehearsals toward the end when we have longer run-throughs with costumes, lighting, etc.  Finally, judging from the amazing, inspiring, enthusiastic, OUTSTANDING cast, we’re expecting that there must be some energetic parents with talents in costume design, set design, props, make-up, lighting, sound (and other techy stuff!) who may want to help us with our creation. Come on – we know you’re out there!!!  We have a vision and we would love a team for each of these areas to help bring our set and characters to life.
