Veterans remembered
On Friday, November 9th, students and guests of Eagle Harbour Montessori School held a beautiful ceremony in honour of our Veterans. Students sang, read poems they had written and paid deeply meaningful and respectful tribute to our heroes of war. Each student also wrote a postcard of gratitude, all of which will be sent to Veterans both locally and internationally.
Historical Halloween
It will come as no surprise that here at Eagle Harbour Montessori we celebrate Halloween with our very own, non-conventional tradition of Historical Halloween. Beginning in early October, each of the students in Grades 1 - 5 chooses a person from history to research and write about and on October 31st students make an autobiographical presentation in full costume as their chosen historical figure. This year we were delighted to welcome a wonderful variety of VIPs; from the likes of Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Einstein and Elizabeth Taylor, to our very own Maria Montessori!

PE class in the garden!
What to do for PE when the Scholastic Book Fair is set up in the gym? Well, our resourceful VP / gym teacher, Ms Stevenson, took the children out into the school garden to get a little dirty, do a little fall clean up and excersize their gardening muscles (squats anyone?). The area smells like fresh cut rosemary and the backdrop of golden leaves ... well, it doesn't get much more idyllic than that.
Terry Fox Run a Terry-mendous success!
After learning about Terry Fox and his mission to help find a cure for cancer from videos, books and heart-felt personal stories, students at Eagle Harbour Montessori enthusiastically pursued fund-raising and proved just how caring, compassionate and wonderful this community is: Our small little school raised OVER $2100!!!
Amazing! Well done Eagle Harbour!
