Your West Vancouver Memorial Library (WVML) card gives you access to thousands of ebooks, audio books and digital resources.  All West Vancouver Schools’ students and staff have access to a WVML card even if they don’t live in West Vancouver.

 

Libby, by Overdrive
Thousands of of ebooks and downloadable audiobooks for primary, elementary and secondary students. Access with the free Libby, by Overdrive app or through the Library website. You can read or listen on a smartphone, tablet, computer or Kobo e-reader. Watch this video on how to get started.

 

 

PressReader
Digital versions of current newspapers and magazines from all over the world, in dozens of languages. Search by country, language or name of newspaper. Includes today’s Vancouver Sun and Province. Rolling archives of all papers, from 5 to 90 days old. Watch this video on how to use.

 

Tumblebook Library (for WVML access). A great place for readers to listen to popular children’s stories in English, French and Spanish. No downloading required. Works best on a laptop or desktop computer. Watch this video on how to use.

Kanopy Kids
A streaming video service that includes read-aloud children’s stories, early years favourites, English language learning and STEM videos.

 

Other ebooks

Google Books is a massive database of digitized books.  Depending on the copyright, you may see the entire book, a preview, or just snippets. 

 

Project Gutenberg is a database of over 50,000 free ebooks. These are largely books whose copyright has expired and so can be used freely. Project Gutenberg is a non profit organization.
