Our library is a learning commons where physical and virtual spaces overlap and students and staff work independently and collaboratively. Complimenting our print collection of over 11,000 books, the Rockridge library offers an extensive digital collection which can be accessed at school or from home through the library website. Articles from thousands of reference books, academic journals, magazines, and newspapers are available to students along with a growing collection of e-books. As well, students can find links to digital tools that facilitate a process of critical inquiry from collecting and organizing information to the creation and presentation of their own content. Eighteen computer stations, wi-fi access and electrical outlets for personal devices enhance access to online sources and networking tools. Green screens and podcasting equipment are available to borrow, and students are encouraged to exploit a variety of media in their projects. The library supports a policy of academic integrity, providing links and instruction relating to formal citation, plagiarism, and copyright. Several student volunteers assist with the daily operations of the Rockridge library. In addition, students and staff use the 3D printer or often check out items from our Makerspace for individual and class projects. We are committed to improving literacy skills across a range of media and technologies.
