Please read through the details carefully and be prepared for the changes when registration opens.
How to Register:
All registrations are completed through School Cash Online by selecting the Summer Learning Registration item in each parent or legal guardian’s account (West Vancouver Schools SD45).
While students may be associated with multiple Summer Learning registration items, STUDENTS ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO REGISTER FOR ONE SUMMER LEARNING COURSE. (If you register for more than one Summer Learning Course, Summer Learning administration will use their discretion to make registration decisions and this will result in your other registration(s) being cancelled)
Please note: Registration items will be available through your SchoolCash Online account at 8:00 AM on the dates noted above.
Registration dates for Summer Learning courses for students currently enroled in Kindergarten to Grade 11 at a West Vancouver public school during the 2025-2026 school year are below. The staggered registration for Full Credit courses allows preference to be given to students in higher grade levels.
A $100 registration deposit is required for all courses- for more information please visit HERE
Student placement for Summer Learning courses is determined by the date and time the item selected through School Cash Online is submitted and deposit paid.
Registration Dates and Timelines:
Current Grade 11 8:00 AM on April 8, 2026
Grades K- 6 8:00 AM on April 8, 2026
Current Grade 10 8:00 AM on April 9, 2026
Current Grade 7, 8 and 9 8:00 AM on April 10, 2026
Please note: Students are only able to register for one course.
Registration closes at 1.00pm on May 8, 2026.
Prepare for Registration:
We recommend parents and guardians log into their School Cash Online accounts before registration opens to ensure ease of access and to confirm a valid payment method.
If you have trouble logging in, please contact your child’s school for assistance. Summer Learning staff are unable to assist you with SchoolCash Online login issues.
Registration Deposit:
A $100 registration deposit is required for each Summer Learning course.
Students are expected to attend their full Summer Learning course, however, to qualify for the refund of the $100 deposit, your child must participate in the course until at least July 10th. If you withdraw or make changes to your registration (register for the wrong course, change your mind, etc.) or your child does not attend until July 10, the deposit will not be refunded.

Fundable Admissions Students:
Fundable Admissions students who have submitted registration requests for Summer Learning 2026 must complete re-qualification before May 8, 2026 in order to be eligible for classes in July.
Course Fees for International Fee-Paying Students:
International fee-paying students must pay a course fee.
All other eligible students can enrol in Summer Learning without paying course fees.

For Summer Learning 2026, families with students residing in West Vancouver, Lions Bay, and Bowen Island and who currently do not attend a West Vancouver public school, are invited to use a course request form from 8am on 13 May, 2026 to indicate interest in specific courses. This approach supports equitable access and allows placements to be offered as space becomes available.
How the process works:
- Families submit this course request form to indicate interest in a specific course.
- If there is a space available in the requested course, families will receive and email offering a placement that includes:
- A secure link to upload clear PDF copies of required documents
- A link to School Cash Online to pay the refundable $100 deposit
- Once placement has been offered, families will have one business day to:
- Submit all required documentation* (as outlined on our website)
- Pay the deposit on School Cash Online
Placement in Summer Learning courses is subject to space availability. The course request process allows us to contact families if and when space becomes available. We encourage families to review the Summer Learning website https://westvancouverschools.ca/summer-learning/ for the most up to date course availability.
Please note that students will not be considered for courses for which they are not eligible. Students who have completed any grade between Grade 7 and 11 by June 30, 2026, are eligible for the Secondary Summer Learning Program. Current Grade 8 students are not permitted to register for full-credit courses. Current Grade 9 students may request full-credit courses at the Grade 10 level only, and current Grade 10 students may request Grade 10 and Grade 11 level courses.
*Please ensure you are familiar with the required documentation in advance. If all required documentation is not submitted, and the deposit is not received within the one business day timeline, the placement may be offered to the next student.

Families should prepare for registration by gathering original documents, as well as good quality photocopies of each. Summer Learning staff will review documentation before the registration process begins.
Applications without complete documentation and the registration deposit will not be accepted.
All documentation must be current and must match your residential address.
Required documentation includes:
- Student’s Personal Education Number (PEN) – available in your child’s MyEducationBC profile, report card, or from your school office
- Student’s birth certificate (original and official translation if applicable)
- Canadian passport or Permanent Resident (PR) card for student
- Canadian passport or PR card for parent
- Proof of residence in parent’s name (choose one):
- 2026 BC Assessment notice
- Complete tenancy agreement (all pages)
- Residential support documents (choose one):
- Current utility bill in parent’s name at the same address (e.g., BC Hydro, Fortis, cable/internet)
- OR three current-dated supplemental documents in parent’s name at the same address. Acceptable documents include:
- ICBC car registration
- Mobile phone bill
- Credit card statement
- Tenant’s insurance contract
- ONE of BC Driver’s License, BC Services Card, or BC Identification Card (cards with address labels not accepted)
- Student’s most recent report card (and IEP, if applicable)
