The BC Ministry of Education and Childcare provides funding for eligible residents of British Columbia who are not graduates and are under 19 years old as of July 2026. West Vancouver Schools is only able to accept registrations from international fee-paying students, Diplomat, Refugee, Study Permit, and Work Permit students already enroled in a school within the West Vancouver School District for the 2026-2027 school year. International fee-paying students must have attended a West Vancouver school for the 2025-2026 school year. Student placement for Summer Learning courses is determined by the date and time the item selected through School Cash Online is submitted and deposit paid. Summer Learning administration may prioritize placement based on individual educational needs. Staggered registration dates for Full Credit courses allow preference to be given to students in higher grade levels. Any requests to change a course or withdraw must be submitted in writing by email to summerlearning@wvschools.ca There is a grace period of one business day after registration during which you can make changes to your course selection without losing the registration deposit. If a withdrawal or change is made after the initial grace period, the application will be canceled, and the registration deposit will not be refunded. A new application will need to be submitted and a new registration deposit paid resulting in a new registration date/timestamp. If Summer Learning is unable to accommodate your course request, your registration deposit will be fully refunded. *Please carefully consider your course and location needs before registering. If a course is full, the School Cash Online item will no longer be available in your School Cash Online account. Families may choose to add their name to a waitlist which will be made available through a link on the Summer Learning website. When space becomes available, families will be sent a notification email which contains the School Cash Online course item and will have one business day to pay their registration deposit. If the registration deposit is not paid within one business day, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. Daily attendance for Summer Learning is required. Students are expected to arrive on time every day, prepared to work, and participate fully for the entire duration of the course. Absences beyond two days, or behaviour deemed to be inappropriate, may result in the student being removed from the course and the deposit not being refunded. Extended absences for any reason are not accommodated. These include, but are not limited to, work, vacations, sporting events, games or practices, family commitments, or festivals. For all Summer Learning courses, if you withdraw, or if absences result in a withdrawal before July 10th, the registration deposit will not be refunded. Students who attend through July 10th will receive a full refund of their registration deposit through their original method of payment. Deposits will be returned before the end of July 2026. All students are expected to follow the West Vancouver Schools Summer Learning Code of Conduct. Students unable to follow the code of conduct may be removed from the program. Registration deposit and international fee-paying student course fees will not be returned if the student is removed for not following the Code of Conduct. All communication regarding Summer Learning will be via the information in your child’s My Education BC (MyEd) profile, except for waitlist communication, which will be via the email entered on the waitlist form. All families need to make sure that their MyEd profile is up to date and accurate. If any changes are required, families must contact the office of your child’s current school to update the information. If your child attends a school that does not use MyEd, a profile will be created for them for the purposes of Summer Learning. Information from the completed in-person registration form will be used to create that profile. West Vancouver Schools and the Summer Learning program are not responsible for missed communication due to email settings, or inaccurate contact or email address information. The information on these forms is collected under the authority of the School Act and the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and pursuant to West Vancouver Schools (School District No. 45 West Vancouver) Administrative Procedures (AP) 180, 185, and 320. The information and consent collected will be used by the School District for the purposes of delivering and administering educational programs and activities for students, accommodating student needs, communicating with parents and students, ensuring compliance with school rules and regulations, ensuring order and safety at school, evaluating student performance, and complying with the School District’s legal, regulatory, and administrative requirements. If you have any questions or concerns about the collection, use or disclosure of the personal information collected, please contact the school principal.
