Registration Deposit
The BC Ministry of Education and Child Care covers the cost of Summer Learning courses for eligible residents of British Columbia who are not graduates and are under 19 years old as of July 1. These students can enroll in Summer Learning courses at no charge. However, a $100 registration deposit is required for all courses.* In an effort to increase accessibility and provide assurances for all families, the registration deposit confirms commitment and covers administrative costs as a result of withdrawals and/or changes made by families after registration.
Payment of deposit does not guarantee placement on the course. Course offerings are subject to many considerations including minimum enrolment, availability of teaching staff, supports, and space.
*If a family is unable to pay the registration deposit due to financial hardship, they are asked to contact the Summer Learning team directly via summerlearning@wvschools.ca before Summer Learning registration opens. We are committed to supporting access to summer learning opportunities and will work with families to explore available options.
Registration Deposit Details
A $100 registration deposit is due at the time of registration .
This deposit will be refunded via the original payment method, if the student attends the course for the full required dates.
There is a one business day grace-period after a registration is completed, during which you can make one change to your course selection (change course or withdraw) without losing your deposit. Any changes during this one-business day grace-period must be submitted in writing to summerlearning@wvschools.ca.
If you withdraw or make changes after this one business day grace period, your application will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded. You will need to submit a new application and pay a new registration deposit resulting in a new registration date/timestamp.
If Summer Learning is unable to accommodate your course request, your registration deposit will be fully refunded.
For all Summer Learning courses, if you withdraw, or if absences result in a withdrawal before July 10th, the registration deposit will not be refunded. Students who attend through July 10th will receive a full refund of their registration deposit. Deposits will be returned before the end of July 2026.

International Fee-Paying Student Course Fees
International fee-paying students must pay a non-refundable course fee.
A course fee will be issued to an International fee-paying student through Fly Wire once course placement has been confirmed.
Once confirmed in a course, International fee-paying students will have 2 business days to pay the fee, otherwise the application will be deleted.
If an International fee-paying student withdraws from a class BEFORE 4pm on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, course fees will be refunded in full. Fees will not be refunded for withdrawal requests after 4pm on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026. The registration deposit will not be refunded for any change, regardless of date.
Any course fees and the registration deposit will be refunded in full if a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrolment or other reasons.
Refunds for International fee-paying students will not be granted if the student is removed for attendance or behaviour concerns.
