West Vancouver Schools Early Childhood Education Centre Admissions Process
The admissions process at the Early Childhood Education Centre prioritizes children based on the employment status of their parents or guardians. The process is designed to ensure equitable access while supporting the families of school district staff, municipal employees, and the broader community.
Priority Categories
Applications will be reviewed in the following order of priority:
1. Children of West Vancouver Schools District Staff
Definition: Children whose parents/guardians are currently employed by West Vancouver Schools (e.g., teachers, administrators, support staff, etc.).
Required Proof: West Vancouver Schools Human Resources Department will confirm employment status.
2. Children of West Vancouver Municipal Employees
Definition: Children whose parents/guardians are currently employed by the Municipality of West Vancouver (e.g., municipal government employees, public safety workers, etc.).
Required Proof: A letter or pay stub from the Municipality of West Vancouver confirming current employment status.
3. Children of the General Public
Definition: Children whose parents/guardians are not employed by the school district or the municipality.
Required Proof: None (general public applicants will be placed after priority groups 1 and 2).
Our hope is to create child care spaces for families who serve the community – through the school district or municipal employment – while still allowing equitable access for the broader public.
