Watch the short video below on how to upload documents<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Email your Accommodation Coordinator to let them know if you need a pickup service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) when you arrive. Use this opportunity to share information about your hobbies, interests, and background, and to learn more about your host\u2019s routines and household expectations. Contacting your host by email is not ideal as your email may be lost in their junk\/spam folders. Call, text, or WhatsApp them instead for your initial connection. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Arrival in August or January<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/westvancouverschools.ca\/international\/future-students\/tuition-fees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tuition Fees<\/a> page if you are staying with a West Vancouver Schools approved host and arriving prior to September 1st or February 1st.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Packing and departure<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In addition to your personal items, you must ensure you have the following packed in your carry-on luggage:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Passport<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Study Permit or Letter of Introduction from the Canadian government (if studying for 6 months or longer)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Letter of Acceptance from West Vancouver Schools International Programs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Custodianship documents, unless travelling with your natural parent<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Mobile phone, and all charging cables<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A laptop, and all charging cables<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Travel-sized bottle of hand-sanitizer (100 ml or less)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Masks, if required by your airline<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Disinfectant wipes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">We strongly suggest against booking any connection flights via the USA or booking connecting flights with tight timelines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Travelling<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">While in transit to the airport, in airports, and during the flight(s), keep in mind:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Bring some food as restaurants or stores may be closed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Be prepared for airline delays, re-routing, and cancellations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Keep mobile phone charged if using throughout the flight to watch movies or play games<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Arrival in Canada<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">When you arrive in Canada you should proceed through the airport as instructed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Please have all your documents as listed previously under Packing and Departure ready for inspection when you undergo border screening. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You should keep a back-up of your documents on your phone and computer.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> If you need help at the airport, go to the service desk or look for volunteers that can help you.\u00a0 At Vancouver International Airport the volunteers are wearing green shirts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Exit into the arrivals area and proceed to the designation meeting area for your driver or for transit options.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are being picked up by tour partner <a href=\"https:\/\/westvancouverschools.ca\/international\/future-students\/arrival-preparation\/language-limousine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Language Limousine<\/a>, exit the baggage area, and go directly to meet the driver.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Contact your Accommodation Coordinator for detailed instructions regarding airport pick up if you haven\u2019t already received it by email.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you arranged your own transportation, please be sure to confirm a meeting spot.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">We do not provide Unaccompanied Minor Services (UMS) travel support, as it creates significant complications at YVR.
