Wrapping up your time in West Vancouver
We hope you have had a fabulous time in West Vancouver during the 2019-2020 school year and have made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime! The International Programs team has a few important reminders for you.
Last Day of Classes and Exams
Last day of classes for all students is June 20, 2019.
Do I write them? Yes, all students are expected to write the in class exams given by their teachers.
Provincial Literacy and Numeracy Exams (June 21 to June 27, 2019)
Do I write them? Students who are not graduating from our schools are NOT required to write these assessments. If you are unsure, please speak to your counsellor.
Returning home & Flight details
Students who are returning home should book their flights as soon as possible and ideally should leave around June 20th. If students need to leave earlier than this due to flight schedules, they will be accommodated. All short-term students (not returning for 2020-2021 school year) must be on a flight home by June 30th, 2020 as your medical insurance ends on June 30th.
The Homestay Coordinator (email@example.com) needs to have your flight details for your return flight home. If your flights have changed, please make sure the Homestay Coordinator is aware! You will need to arrange your own transportation to the airport. Contact us immediately if you need help.
Report cards & Attendance letter
Our office will email a copy of your report card to you, your family, and your agent. We do this for all secondary international students.
Validation/Notarization of Report Cards: In addition to receiving an emailed copy of their report card, students from Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Italy will receive a validated/notarized report card via their agent by priority mail. For more information, please email Dona at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Attendance letter: If you require a letter stating that you attended school in West Vancouver, please email this request to Dona at email@example.com.
Curfew and rules are still in place until you are back in your home country.
If you are leaving Canada permanently, remember to return any keys, take all your belongings with you, and make sure your living spaces are left clean and tidy. Your homestay families will be sad to see you leave! Leaving a thank you card for your homestay is always a nice gesture.
Communicate and participate in Continued Learning until your departure. Don’t forget to say goodbye to your counsellor and teachers. Please follow your school’s instructions regarding the return of school materials and textbooks.
Any students who borrowed a graphing calculator or computer from International Office will need to return them to our office to obtain their refund before they permanently leave Canada. Please call or email the office to book an appointment to meet with us.
