Students in Grades 8-10 are required to take eight courses.

Grade 9 Courses

  • Fine Arts Elective
  • Applied Skills Elective

Grade 10 Courses

  • English Language Arts 10 (2 of either Creative Writing, Literary Studies or Composition)
  • Social Studies 10
  • Mathematics 10
  • Science 10
  • Physical Education 10
  • Career Life Education 10
  • French 10 or Spanish 10
  • Personal Project 10

Note: Students receive 4 credits upon completion of each of the courses listed above. A Fine Arts or Applied Skills elective is required in Grades 10, 11, or 12.

Dogwood Diploma

A Dogwood Diploma is earned by students meeting the graduation requirements.

If you are entering grade 10 in the 2018/2019 school year or later please see the list below for the NEW GRADUATION  PROGRAM:

  • Two Career Education courses CLE and CLC (8 credits total) (replaces Planning 10 and Graduation Transitions)
  • Physical and Health Education 10 (4 credits)
  • Science 10 (4 credits), and a Science 11 or 12 (4 credits)
  • Social Studies 10 (4 credits), and a Social Studies 11 or 12 (4 credits)
  • A Math 10 (4 credits), and a Math 11 or 12 (4 credits)
  • A Language Arts 10 (2 courses worth 2 credits each), 11 & 12 (8 credits)
  • An Arts Education 10, 11, or 12 and/or an Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies 10, 11, or 12 (4 credits)
