Film students at Rockridge Secondary have been working on a documentary about Brian Upson and the legendary BC provincials basketball game between Argyle and WVSS that took place in 1982. This project has been in development since September, and will be screened at the Kay Meek Theatre on Feb. 24
Longshot: The Brian Upson Story follows the story of former West Van basketball coach Brian Upson as he leads his team in competing in the 1982 BC Provincial championships while facing a battle with cancer. Interviews with his family members, former players, and local reporters reveal the life of Brian Upson and the effect he still has on the community today.
